How We Partner with Universities

We transform lives through immersive, experiential learning that combines meaningful service with global education.

Students don't simply volunteer—they live, work, and learn alongside local community members while helping build multi-use athletic courts that become lasting centers for recreation, education, and community gathering. Through hands-on collaboration, cultural immersion, and guided reflection, participants return with expanded perspectives, stronger leadership skills, and a greater understanding of their role as global citizens.

At Courts for Kids, we believe that the most powerful learning happens when students step outside the classroom and into authentic cross-cultural experiences. Since 2007, we've partnered with universities to create fully immersive, customizable international service-learning programs that develop leadership, strengthen intercultural competence, and foster a deeper understanding of global communities.

Why Courts for Kids?

  • MEANINGFUL TRAVEL

Our service trips are community-driven from the start. Local communities identify the need, initiate the project, and shape the vision—we partner with them to bring it to life. Through hard work and full immersion, students collaborate with community members to build vibrant spaces for recreation and connection. Along the way, they gain practical skills, forge lasting relationships, and leave with a deeper understanding of the world and their role in it.

  • WE MAKE IT EASY FOR YOU

We handle ALL trip logistics, offering an affordable, tailored experience for your students. With our personalized approach, students will have a once-in-a-lifetime service opportunity at half the cost of similar organizations. Plus, as a registered non-profit, funds raised are tax-deductible. We also offer scholarships.

  • A TRUSTED PARTNER

With nearly two decades of experience, we’ve earned a reputation built on trust with our partners and volunteers. Our on-the-ground partners live in the countries we serve, ensuring that all projects are safe, meaningful, and centered on the needs of our community partners. We work only with vetted partners, and our trips adhere to strict safety protocols. Don’t just take it from us—explore our glowing testimonials from past trips!

“Most impressive to me is the manner in which the staff and organization operate with compassion, integrity, and respect for the intercultural experience every step of the way. I truly cannot say enough about what the partnership with Courts for Kids has meant to our student-athletes and our Athletic Department.”

– Katie Harbert, Assistant Athletic Director, Student Athlete Development: University of Oregon

“Seeing the fusion of what students learn in the classroom with the on-the-ground learning that occurred through immersion in another community was an incredibly exciting and rewarding experience for me as a teacher. Students’ experiential learning in another community deepened their understanding of culture, international relations, problem-solving, and ‘community’ in ways that simply are not possible through education in the classroom alone.”

– Leslie Leve, Ph.D, College of Education Professor, University of Oregon: Eugene, Oregon
